Jumbled Thoughts & Lotsa Clutter

Hey!

I just realised that I skipped posting a little something last week. It wasn't intentional, I just wasn't in the mood because I felt a little meh last Friday. No big deal.

Then this week, when I started drafting a new post, the internet decided to stop working. We had no internet connection for OVER THREE DAYS because the NBN network had an 'outage' no one could explain. I swear this shitty internet network the government totally screwed up is the worst! We've had nothing but problems since connecting to it last year.

What I hate the most is the miscommunication, the no explanations and failure to warn customers about maintenance or problems in the area. It totally sucks.

It randomly came back on Saturday night, but I don't trust it. I get paranoid and pissed off pretty quickly.

Anyway, enough about that. I've spent WAY too many hours being angry already.

So, what else have I been up to? Well, I've done quite a bit of reading during the last few weeks. I've got a huge TBR pile, so I wanted to get caught up on some of the books I have sitting around.

Last Sunday, we went to watch HEREDITARY and while it wasn't the scariest movie ever, I enjoyed the hell out of it. The story is so clever. Part family drama that ends in tragedy. Part ghost story, and all sorts of screwed up. Plus, I loved the ending. I love that it went THERE!

My writing has been a little inconsistent at the moment because I'm concentrating on the biz side of things. And that's so time consuming, and slow and never-ending, but it's part of the process. And I refuse to give up.

This doesn't mean the ideas stopped coming. Actually, one of the problems I'm having is that I have too many ideas fighting for attention. I want to write all of them at the same time. And there are a few fun anthologies I wouldn't mind writing shorties for. Not to mention that my next revision project has started to whisper in my ear...

Yeah. Sometimes the clutter isn't physical. Sometimes it's totally inside my head. 😨

It's also been raining. A lot. Winter has really hit hard, which I don't like. I'm not a big winter fan, but we're trying to make the most out of it by keeping up with our two daily walks, and have even gotten back into yoga. So happy about that!

Our yoga hiatus went for too long. But now we're determined to keep up with two weekly yoga workouts whenever we can. It just feels so good to stretch out the body.

We're had a really awesome weekend and packed a thousand things into it, of course. I secretly wish it was another long one because we need an extra day to recover. LOL.

Oh, did I mention that hubby found a great Kindle Paperwhite deal and we picked it up on Saturday? Yeah, we went for a huge walk, and even found some great secondhand books in a nearby store. Bookish success!

I've got a to-do list ready for this week, so let's hope I actually cross/highlight everything off this week. There are a few things I've carried forward for over a month. 😰

Have a good one!

Sunny Spring

I love this picture of Loki. I took it several weeks ago, and I love the look on his face. What a cutie! ;)

So. Another weekend is over. Boo! We had two awesome days. Got out for a little while on Saturday, went for some nice, long walks both days, hung out, ate some yummy meals, and even slept in yesterday. Yeah, it was a great weekend. Of course, not long enough because there were other things we wanted to do but didn't.

Maybe next weekend.

I originally planned to spend this week working on the third (and final) draft of Sierra Fox #3, but changed my mind. Last week was pretty packed with things to do, so I decided to take a break this week. I'll be working on a variety of smaller things I have on my to-do list, as well as catching up on some reading, and spending time getting to know my Galaxy Note better. LOL. Nothing too involved.

But next week, it's time to finish that book! :) And to be honest, it's probably a better time to do it. My daughter goes away on a school camp next week--from Wednesday to Friday--so I'll have some extra time to myself while hubby's at work. Time that I can easily use on Sierra & Co. It'll also help keep me focused on work, rather than how much I'll miss my daughter while she's gone. This is her first camp. Actually, her first time away (overnight) from home. :/

After that, she has two weeks off. Yeah, school holidays are once again around the corner. They sure come fast, don't they?

Well, that's about it for now. I'm hoping that this beautiful spring weather continues all week. It's been a lovely start to the new season, which makes me very happy. :D

Have a good one!

Weekend & Movie Thoughts

We had a lovely, and very sunny weekend! There was much UFC watching, working out, walking, lovely meals, some shopping, and just good times. It was so good that I didn't want it to end. :(

But here I am, on a Monday, hoping that the sun remains for the rest of the week. Even if the forecast says otherwise, lol.
Trying to keep positive thoughts, instead of the negative ones that plagued me a few weeks ago. So far, so good. I suppose that having a whole week to recharge and tidy up a lot of the stationery clutter I had around really helped. In a way, doing that also helped me get rid of some of the mind clutter. Which is always a good thing!

So, it's a new week. What have I got planned? Well, I started reading another book that I've had on my TBR pile for a while, but couldn't wait to get stuck into. And I intend to get started on brainstorming Sierra Fox #3, by pulling out all the notes I already have and putting them into some sort of coherent stream. I'm pretty much ready to get started on it next week.

The only thing/s that will stop that from happening are edits. If I receive edits for Sierra Fox #2 or The Hidden #1, then I won't be able to get stuck into the first draft. Otherwise, I can't wait! :)

We watched two movies over the weekend: The Devil Inside & Real Steel.

I'll start with Real Steel because it was so crappy. The story sounded okay--a futuristic about fighting robots and an ex-boxer dude. The actual execution was pretty bad. I just couldn't get into it. The main character was very unsympathetic. Actually, he was an a-hole. And his son wasn't any better. Put them together and I really didn't care what the hell happened to them. Not a fan.

The Devil Inside, I really enjoyed. I'm a sucker for demonic possession/exorcism stories, so I knew I'd be totally sucked into this one. I thought it was very well written, and told. The actress who played Maria Rossi was really impressive, and freaky. There were a lot of creepy scenes, and the tension kept me glued to the screen. I thought it was great! I know a lot of people had problems with the ending, but I don't know how else they expect these documentary-type movies to end. Seriously, if you sit down to watch one, you should already know that you're not going to get a concrete conclusion. Or a happy ending. I would gladly watch a sequel.

Okay, think it's time to finish off this post and look for a stationery something for my daughter, grab my notes, read a little, and possibly switch off the computer. :)

See ya!

Ouch!

Good morning, and Happy New Week!

We had another great weekend. It was hubby's birthday on Saturday, so we made sure he had an awesome day. I do believe it was a success. :) Then yesterday, we did a whole bunch of stuff. Phew. By the time we got to bed, I was so darn tired.

This morning, I woke up with a sore heel. Again. I know, this thing's not going away. And with the amount of walking I do, I expect it to stick around for a while. All I can do is try to rest it as much as I can when I'm home. I looked it up on the Internet this morning, and it looks like I might have this. I should try taping it up. Maybe that'll help a bit.

Well, after last week's super busy editing sessions, I'm going to take it easy today. I'd like to do a little planning, a little reading, and not much more. I need a mental rest. By Friday afternoon, I ended up completing the first round of CLASH edits, the last round of SINFUL edits, and the first draft for Recast #3. Yikes!

That's a lot of stuff. No wonder I don't feel like doing much today, lol.

Anyway, have a great day!

Tuesday, 20 September 2011

Hey!

How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was great. There was a lot of walking, some lovely meals, excellent company, lotsa reading, and much Burn Notice watching.

That's right. We were really behind, so we decided to catch up on Season 4. We had heaps of eps to watch, but managed to get to the end. We even watched Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe.

Actually, we've now also watched the first 4 eps of Season 5. Awesome. I love this show!

Anyway. This week, I've decided to start writing the first draft of Recast #3. Yesterday, hubby came home early from work so I didn't actually get any words down, but I did get heaps of pages of notes done. Enough to get the story well on the way. This morning, however, I wrote 2,036 words. I'm happy with the start and can't wait to get totally stuck into it. I'm aiming for 40-50k words. I'd like it to be category length, just like the two previous Recast stories.

Well, that's it for today. I need to get ready to head out soon. So, see ya later! :)

Good morning, New Week!

How was your weekend? We had another lovely couple of days. This was the second weekend in a row that hubby didn't work on Saturday morning, so we had a cool time relaxing, hanging out, going for walks, and catching up on some movies/shows. Very cool.

I also spent some time reading this book. It's no wonder that Rachel Caine is one of my most fave authors--she's got such a compelling voice, and intriguing stories that totally suck me in!

As I mentioned last week, my reading attention span has been a little restless lately... so it's really cool to get caught up in a book. :)

Well, this week is going to be packed with editing and writing. I have the first round of SINFUL to edit, and want to continue to add words to Sierra Fox #2. I got 9/151pgs edited this morning. That's not much, but it's because I also had to squeeze in yoga. I'll be working on the editing during the morning, and writing after lunch.

These are my daily goals: edit 40pgs + add 3k to WIP.

It's going to be tough work and it'll keep me real busy, but I hope it's doable. As of Friday afternoon, SF#2 was up to 69,106 words. That total put me 2 days ahead of my first-draft schedule, and by adding 3k/day this week, I can keep it ahead. So, fingers crossed!

I guess I'll know this afternoon, if these goals are realistic or not. Either way, I'm determined to have the edits emailed back by Friday, and want to cross the 80k-mark on my WIP as well. Very ambitious, huh? ;)

Okay, gotta get my daughter off to school soon! See ya.

Monday, 6 December 2010

Hey, Monday!

How's it going? I hope you all had an awesome weekend!

We did, although the weather wasn't ideal. :/ That's becoming the story every single day this summer. So far. Let's hope that Mother Nature plans to get all the shitty, rainy stuff outta the way this month and then let's us settle nicely into a sunny summer. Fingers crossed, and wishful thinking.

Well, there's a whole new week ahead of me... and I haven't figured out what to tackle. There are several things I'd like to do: start writing that futuristic that keeps hounding my brain and has already presented the first chapter to my brain, read through that UF novel that I want to send to one of my editors before the end of this month/year, or just dawdle around until I get the next round/s of edits that I'm expecting any day now, or just sit on the couch and read the first book in this omnibus that I'm really enjoying...

Decisions, decisions.

Except, I know that I can't bring myself to waste time. I like to use every available moment I have, especially since my daughter will go on holidays in about a week-and-a-half. Yeah, gotta maximise my time. So, maybe I'll take a little from column A, and a little from column B. Yeah, that would be cool. Then if the edits do come this week, I can put everything else aside and concentrate on them. Thanks, Blogger. ;)

Oh, and speaking of cool, you know what we did over the weekend? My daughter has been growing her hair out for a while now, with the goal of donating most of the length to Locks of Love when it was long enough. And, it was. So, hubby cut about 12" off her hair the other day. It's now really short, like a cute bob. I packaged the hair (which I braided before cutting) and we're going to send it out today.

She's so excited, and I'm so proud of her wanting to help other kids in need. She's a good girl. :)

Okay, time to get on with... something. See ya later!

Na Na Na...

Well, hello there new week! How are you? I personally wasn't quite ready to say goodbye to Sunday just yet, but what can I do? It's not like I can stop time or anything. ;)

We enjoyed another chillaxing Sunday: caught up on a bunch of shows and even managed to squeeze in a movie. Yay. It was very cool. And the weather was so summerlike. Which I'm absolutely lovin', because I'm totally over the rainy crap weather we've been having lately. :(

Bring on the sunshine, I say! (Just looked out the window... looks like we're heading into overcast territory. Boo!)

Anyway, I've got some edits to tackle today (and maybe tomorrow). At the moment I'm sitting on pg24/85, which is a pretty cool headstart. I'm going to spend the rest of the day on this first round of edits, so I'm going to push as far as I can. Of course, I'm secretly hoping to get it outta the way by this arvo, when I head out to pick my daughter up from school. We'll see.

Hope you all have a great week! :)

Monday again

After such a lovely summer weekend, who's ready for Monday? Not me, that's for sure.

I pretty much took yesterday off from everything but hanging out with hubby, daughter, and kitty... I think I needed that time to recharge.

We also went to a bookstore that was interested in the 20+ books I no longer wanted on my bookshelf. So cool, my bookshelf feels lighter, a little easier to deal with now. And then we went for a lovely, long walk before heading home. It turned out to be a very nice Sunday. We got an early start, so we had the rest of the arvo to just chill.

Speaking of early starts, here are the stats for NaNo-slash-editing:

•NaNo word count: 37,487
•Final round edits: done & emailed on Saturday

That's another lot of editing that's completely done. Yay!

Today, I added another 2k to my NaNo story, and am hoping to pass the 40k mark. I think that taking yesterday off from writing has helped my mind get in the right space, and I pretty much know where I need to go now. So, hopefully, I'll be able to get this story completely outta my head by the end of the week. :)

Oh, and I noticed that two more of the Static Movement anthologies I've got stories in are now available! CHRISTMAS FEAR has my story, Santa Rising in it. And FAERIES actually has my Breena Trilogy, which consists of longer short stories. :) Very exciting stuff!

That's it for now. I've got to get my daughter ready for school. See ya later!

The weekends rock!

Seriously, they do. We had a great time. Especially since hubby didn't work on Saturday. I was really glad because he got to sleep in for two days in a row, which has become quite a luxury. :)

But, I still managed to add a bit to my NaNoWriMo story on Saturday (2,010w), though I didn't add a single word yesterday. lol.

Still, it was cool, because having yesterday off helped me figure out what's going to happen next. I'm about to inject this story with some unexpected badness. Sunny's going to get herself into some trouble, that's for sure.

Anyway, I really wanted to add another 2k before my daughter woke up and instead ended up adding 3,761 words. So surprised, but it's awesome, right? This is where I'm at as of this morning's session:

•NaNo word count: 20,045.

That actually takes me very close to my Thursday target, which is 20,457 words. Yikes! I reckon it's always good to get ahead. Considering that I'm expecting the final round of edits for DEMON OF CHRISTMAS PAST sometime this week, it'll definitely help.

I started to read the Rose series to my daughter this moring. It starts with the book, ROSE. The cover's so cute, and I'm actually also interested in reading about this magical world. Daughter really enjoyed the first chapter this morning. I'll probably try to squeeze in one chapter in the morning before school, and one before bedtime.

Well, that's it for now. I'm hoping to add at least another 2k to my NaNo story during the day. Fingers crossed!

A little Loki update:

I took this cheeky Loki pic with my phone camera the other day while he was sitting inside a new box.

Yep. We got a package and as soon as I opened it and took out the contents, he jumped in. Oh, okay, he actually jumped in while the stuff was still in there. LOL.

Anyway. We got up early this morning and made our way to the RSPCA for his follow-up appointment.

The vet took a swab of both ears and checked them. The infection is no longer there. Yay! She cleaned them out to make sure any residue from the drops was gone, too. Then she checked his teeth and said they're not looking too bad. They're not 100% but are certainly getting there. We need to keep giving him the prescription food and then move onto the oral care stuff.

That's not so bad. :)

We're all very excited. It means our little buddy is back to normal. Well, almost. He's still got that bald patch on his back. :/ But it looks like the fur's already growing back.

This is a great start to the weekend.

Oh, and if you'd like to read my latest interview... I'm over at Rachel Brimble's blog. It was a fun interview and I'm chatting about my upcoming Eternal Press 'alien' novel, Shade of Grey.

Have a good one!

Gosh!

The weekend was awesome! On Saturday, it was my daughter's 9th birthday - Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you... Anyway, we had a great day.

About a month ago, she put together a Wishlist of presies she was interested in. And in the end, we got her everything on there. As well as a few other things. We were very stealth about it and she didn't suspect a thing. She was so surprised. And happy. It was lovely to see.

Then hubby whipped up a lovely and very delicious brekky, we hung out for a bit, and then headed out to have lunch at Sizzler. She loves going there, it was her choice. The rest of the day was awesome as well. I'm so glad that we managed to make it special for her. And I can't believe that she's 9 already! The years are going really fast.

Well, I've only got 100 pages left to read of the latest Dexter book. Once I've finished this one, I'm up to date with the series. Just like I'm now up to date with the Harper Connelly series. And as exciting as that is, I have to say that I'm going to miss both Dexter and Harper. When you read this many of their books in a row, you can't help but get lost in their world. :) In a good way.

This week, I'm going to take a break from both revision and writing. I need to rest my head for a bit. I've been doing a lot of thinking and sorting during most of this month. Of course, I already have a to-do list, but this has things that I want to get done by the end of October, not just this week. Already crossed one thing off and very close to crossing another... but next week I'm going to do the third/final draft of BOUNDLESS, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm actually itching to do it now, but I want that extra week to distance myself from it.

Okay. Time to see what I might tackle next... See ya!

Book Craziness!

The weekend was awesome, although it continued to be a little too wet for my liking.

Oh, and I did go a little nuts with the book buying. Let's see, on Friday night I went to my fave bookstore and came back with 7 books. They had some awesome bargains, really. And on Saturday I came back with 3 new books after we popped into a shopping center. And yesterday I ordered 1 online. Once again, all bargains that I couldn't pass up. :)

Books, books everywhere. I love it!

Speaking of books, I finished reading this one yesterday and absolutely loved it. My gosh, what a freaky story. It was insane and wonderful, scary and wow - all at the same time. I'll post a full review of it soon.

Okay, I didn't end up finishing the first draft of my current WIP on Friday afternoon. I got a little distracted and ran out of time. This morning, I've added another 1,440 words but the epilogue is not written yet. That's what my goal is for today - I shall get that epilogue written. And when that's done, the first draft will be finished. Yay! I'm very excited about how this story turned out. It's one of those that ended up being bigger than when I first came up with the concept. The second half of the book took a different direction that actually made it a more interesting and action-packed story. Cool!

The word count's currently sitting @ 40,437. Yep. I've met my word count goal and have no idea how much more it'll go up by after the epilogue. Though I don't think it'll be a really big ending. Just a little wrap-up.

My daughter also helped me shuffle my bookshelves around a little. I've got so many YA books now that I had to make more room for them.

Well, I'm off to face another Monday. Happy day!

Monday, 4 May 2009

*yawn*

I feel really tired this morning.

Almost as if sleep didn't do anything to help me rest during the night. :/ It sucks when you wake up tired, doesn't it?

We've been doing a lot more working out and even more walking than usual, so I guess that explains why I'm usually exhausted by 8pm.

It also took me a long time to find a pic that captured my mood this morning, and pretty much settled for the one to my left.

Well, it's a new week and I've decided to go back to the first draft I started writing several weeks ago. Remember how I stopped @ 15k for UC? Well, this morning I opened up the Word doc and started reading what I'd already written. Just to get back up to speed. I stopped at page 32/66 because my daughter woke up, but I'm hoping to add at least 2k later today. Although, it would be even better if I could manage more. ;) Lol.

We'll see how I go. I wasn't even sure if this was what I wanted to work on this week... until the story started bugging me over the weekend.

Now, I'm all ready to go and can't wait to write this story.

If you're interested in sampling some of my work, or would just like to read a freebie, I've now posted two free reads over at my Stuff page. Hope you enjoy 'em! :D

Well, it's time to get my daughter off to school now. Have a good one!

Monday, 2 March 2009

Welcome to March!

Why, oh why, do the weekends have to go so darn quick? :/ I think I ask myself this question every Monday.

When I worked full time, I used to think that was the reason why I didn't like Mondays. I haven't worked a full time job for a (long) while, but I still dislike Mondays. Why is that?

Anyway, I don't know what's wrong with my left leg but it hurts. Well, it's actually the back of my ankle, but I can feel it all the way up to the back of my knee. Not sure what I did there. Is there such a thing as walking too much? I don't think so. Still, it's not going to stop me from walking, I'll just have to go slower. Lol.

Oh, my mobile phone was dying on me last week. Well, the battery was. So, on Saturday we went looking for a new one. Did I mention that a few months ago we got rid of our home phone? Yeah. The landline was getting to be a waste of money and an annoyance. We'd get so many different telemarketers calling that I used to screen almost every call with the answering machine. Well, since we disconnected that, the only calls I get are ones I actually want to answer. On my mobile. Anyway... back to the story. THIS is my new phone! Isn't it pretty? I think it's great. :D

Well, with the start of a new week comes a new to-do list. Which is, um, what I should be taking care of right now. *cough*

Have a good week!

Lotsa Bookshelves

Anyway, I'm so darn tired today! This weekend, I've lifted more things than I've ever lifted my whole life. I'm pretty sure of it.

It all started on Friday night when the hubby came home with a truck he borrowed from work. We had to get a heavy piece of furniture in there, so we could drop it off at my mother-in-law's place. I was surprised that I was able to help him get it down the stairs and then into the house. I guess the weights have been helping me with strength. Just as well, because we then made a few trips to IKEA to pick up 4 new shelves, eight doors to put on these shelves, a 6-drawer chest, and a few bits and pieces. Phew. Hubby put it all together and we both moved everything into the bedroom.

So, our room is officially almost complete. I just need to sort out a few things that are homeless at the moment. It's amazing just how much you can pack into a room over the years. :/

I spent several hours during Saturday and Sunday night grabbing all my books - they were all over the house, but mostly in my daughter's room - trying to organise them as nicely as I could. I'm still amazed at just how many books I have. I didn't end up cataloguing everything because I just wanted to put it all away, but gosh, there are heaps. Still, there's also room for growth now. I was a little worried about not having that. Lol.

Now, I need to go back into my daughter's room so that I can try and clear away most of the mess left behind. There are a lot of things there. Once you start, it feels like it's almost never-ending.
Gosh. I know it's January and the start of a new year, but for me, February always feels like the starting point. I guess it's because I can't totally throw myself into any long writing projects because my daughter's home for the whole month.
Anyway. Have a great day! You'll find me sorting and re-sorting stuff now...

TV Weekend

So, on Friday night we finished off SEX AND THE CITY. It was SO cool to see the whole series a second time. And I'm happy to say that the hubby loved the show too.

Can't wait to see the movie! It's released in the middle of October, here in Oz. So we'll be borrowing and watching it as soon as we get it. It'll be good to catch up with the characters and see if the movie feels the same as the show.

On Saturday night, we caught up on SUPERNATURAL.

I've been hanging to see how the new season was going to go. And man, wow! My mind's buzzing with the possibilities already. It's so good to catch up with Dean and Sam. And of course, when Bobby's around, it's that much better too. :) I really like where they're going. I've always been fascinated with Angels and Demons. I've explored it in several of my own stories (this is one). Anyway, I'm liking the angel angle and can't wait to see why they need Dean. Although I have a theory that includes the two brothers now sitting on the opposite side of the spectrum. ;)

Loved the first two episodes. Bring on the rest!
Last night we watched the first two episodes of FRINGE. I've been intrigued by the concept since I saw the first ad. One of the channels here has decided to play it about a week behind the U.S. so that's always great news.

The verdict: Wow! I'm hooked. Actually, my hubby is hooked too. I wasn't sure if he would like it because he wasn't an X-FILES fan. Oh, and I wasn't sure if both of us would like it because the guy from LOST had something to do with it. LOST, IMO, is a total mess. You never find out anything. But it looks like this one's different.

There's a deeper, longer thread happening from the beginning, but each new case seems to be self-contained. I like that. Actually, I can't wait to see more. It's a definite keeper.

On Sunday, we're going to watch THE MENTALIST, which has the Aussie actor, Simon Baker. He's great, and the concept of the show sounds interesting. Oh, and the second season of CALIFORNICATION starts the same night too. Loved the first season, can't wait to see how they screw up the characters in this one. LMAO.

There you have it. We're once again back into TV-show galore. :D I need to find out when HEROES starts here, too.

Bye!

Friday, 26 September 2008

You know what day it is!

So, I'm in a great mood. :D Bring on the weekend.

<--- Have I used this picture before? Lol. Suddenly it looks very familiar. *scratches head*

Okay, I'm going to start with a word count update:

As you can see, I've passed my 80k word count goal. So, that's awesome. The novel is pretty much finished. I just want to re-read the last two chapters to make sure I included everything. There were several things that needed to be tied up, and after I'd finished and was walking over to my daughter's school, I thought of a few other things.
Still, the bulk of it is now done. How exciting! I'm really glad with how it worked out. Now I need to sit down to take some more notes and possibly write a brief outline for the next two installments. It's all very exciting. :) And I think it'll be fun to return to these characters.
My daughter's on school holidays for a few weeks. So, until the middle of October, she'll be home with me. I'm still going to give myself weekly goals, but they'll have to be (much) smaller things. I mean, I won't be writing any novels next month, that's for sure. :D Although NaNo's just around the corner, and I'm planning to take part in that. Heeee. Heeee.
It looks like we'll finish up SEX AND THE CITY this weekend. You know, we're up to the bit where she's started dating the artist, and I just remembered how much I disliked him the first time I watched the series. Ugh. He's so not for Carrie. Why can't she see that? Is it because she's been through so much crap with dates and men that she's lost her judgement? Strange to look at it that way, I suppose.
Okay. That's it for me today. Make sure you have a great weekend!

Sometimes, not so Fabulous!

You know, I'd forgotten how pissed off I got with Carrie the first time I watched her pre-wedding breakdown.

I mean, it was so obvious that she never really loved Aidan. I'm pretty sure that she loved the idea of him more than the actual man. With a good dose of guilt for what she did to him, too. Yet, in the end she says yes because the ring was nice.

Ugh!

She can be so annoying sometimes. They all can. But you know, that's what I LOVED about SEX AND THE CITY. That we have four seemingly average hardworking women, with many flaws. Most of the time they don't even know what they want. And when they do get what they think they want, it's not what they imagined. Or not really what they were after.

Phew. *taking a breath*

I just love characters that get under your skin this way, whether it's to make you happy, sad, angry or annoyed. I love the rawness of this show. We're now up to the end of season 4. We'll hopefully watch the last two eps tonight after the hubby gets home. Man, I might have already seen these, but I'm enjoying it as much - if not maybe more - than the first time around. It's also interesting and fun to hear what the hubby thinks.

Man, I can't wait to see the movie! Next month, next month... :D

Well, this week is an early-start week for hubby, so I got stuck into the writing and managed to reach my goal before 1pm. That's always a cool thing. I'm going to pick the lappy up for another hour after it recharges and hopefully add another 1k. But for now, I'm right here:
Pretty cool, though I think I'll have to sit down this afternoon sometime and make a list of everything that needs to happen and be resolved by the end of this draft. I mean, it's all there floating around inside my head, but it makes more sense and I don't lose things if I write/list it on a clean piece of paper. I'm so excited, so close to the end now.

See ya!

Feelin' good

This picture has nothing to do with the story I'm writing at the moment, but you know, it's lovely. I couldn't help but post it here today. :) Anyone getting inspired yet? :)

So, how was everyone's weekend? We had another relaxing one. Picked up several books from my fave bookstore on Saturday, watched several footy games, did some weights, went for some walks, and I got a bunch of reading done, too. It was fun. They always are, right? Oh, we also had to pop into a local school to vote. It was one of those council election-thingies this weekend in NSW.

We've been having some beautiful, beautiful spring weather. I'm SO excited. I've missed this so much. Don't know why, but I'm usually in a great mood during spring and summer. I just LOVE the warm weather. Everything feels better in summer. ;)

This week, the hubby starts later and gets home later. It sucks that he won't be home until sometime after 10pm but at least we get to spend some time together in the morning/afternoon. Therefore, this week I'll be getting the majority of my writing done at night. So, this is all I managed this afternoon:
Not a great amount of progress, but I'm still aiming to get to 44k later tonight. Fingers crossed. I like where I stopped, mid-chapter. I know where I'm going for the next two/three chapters too. I took a few notes over the weekend and did a little more research. See, there was this strange new subplot that came from nowhere and I have to fine-tune the specifics. To do that, I needed to research a certain type of something. I think I've got it now, and it'll hopefully lead into the major plotline for part 2. That's exciting. Oh, and you know what? The romantic involvement in this novel is now turning into an entanglement... can't complain about that.

Okay, it's time to get going now.
