I have some awesome news!

Hey! How are you today? I hope February is treating you well.

I thought I'd pop in to mention some great news!

Here's the first bit:

That's right!

I have a new book coming out next month from Anuci Press. I'm SO excited!

Check out that fantastic cover, which was made by the very talented Adrian from Fabled Beast Design. I love it because this cover fits the story perfectly!

I can't wait for this book to be out in the wild. And that happens to be March 29th. ☺️

The other very cool piece of news is this:

This is also very exciting because this novella is actually a sequel/companion to

I don't have a release date for this one yet, but I can't wait to share more details when I have them. 😃

Well, there you have it!

Revision & Stuff

Why does it feel like there's not enough hours in the day to do everything that I'd like to do? :/

Lately, at the end of every single day, I just wish I'd had a little more time. I guess that's how it goes.

Today, I managed to get to page 90/112 of my Sci-Fi revision. The word count has gone past 48k. I wasn't sure if it would or not, because this third draft is not about adding words, it's about making sure that the story makes sense, that all the characters are consistent, and that I've eliminated any glaring plot holes. To be honest, I didn't find any. But I did tweak some fine details that I wanted to clear up.

I find that a lot in my third drafts. Fixing or mentioning one tiny detail makes a huge difference. I actually did that today to a particular scene, which meant I had to make mention later on in the story. That bit is now done, so I'm very happy with it.

Well, I've reached the halfway point of THROUGH VIOLET EYES. This is a very interesting book, with a mystery that I can't wait to see unravel. In this alternate universe, the Violets are people who can channel the dead, and they've got some fascinating jobs within society. I'm enjoying how the world is slowly unfolding through the story of Dan and Natalie. :)

I got this cool book in the mail today, from the lovely Ericka Scott. Looking forward to checking it out. Though my TBR pile is getting bigger each day. This morning, I got these books in the mail as well. They sound so good, and there are 3 books per volume. I've never read anything by L.J. Smith, so I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway, it's time to sign out. Bye for now!

Book Craziness!

The weekend was awesome, although it continued to be a little too wet for my liking.

Oh, and I did go a little nuts with the book buying. Let's see, on Friday night I went to my fave bookstore and came back with 7 books. They had some awesome bargains, really. And on Saturday I came back with 3 new books after we popped into a shopping center. And yesterday I ordered 1 online. Once again, all bargains that I couldn't pass up. :)

Books, books everywhere. I love it!

Speaking of books, I finished reading this one yesterday and absolutely loved it. My gosh, what a freaky story. It was insane and wonderful, scary and wow - all at the same time. I'll post a full review of it soon.

Okay, I didn't end up finishing the first draft of my current WIP on Friday afternoon. I got a little distracted and ran out of time. This morning, I've added another 1,440 words but the epilogue is not written yet. That's what my goal is for today - I shall get that epilogue written. And when that's done, the first draft will be finished. Yay! I'm very excited about how this story turned out. It's one of those that ended up being bigger than when I first came up with the concept. The second half of the book took a different direction that actually made it a more interesting and action-packed story. Cool!

The word count's currently sitting @ 40,437. Yep. I've met my word count goal and have no idea how much more it'll go up by after the epilogue. Though I don't think it'll be a really big ending. Just a little wrap-up.

My daughter also helped me shuffle my bookshelves around a little. I've got so many YA books now that I had to make more room for them.

Well, I'm off to face another Monday. Happy day!

Productive weekend

So, we went to the hairdresser on Saturday. I was long overdue for a trim. You see, I've got naturally wavy hair, and it's thick too. So, if I don't get it layered every few months, the layers grow out and I end up with really messy (bushy) hair. Now, I've got my layers back and my hair feels smooth. Easier to manage too. Awesome!

I also intended to buy this book, and came back with it as well as this one and this one too! What can I say? I'm totally addicted to books, but I guess you already know that. :)

We also watched a documentary - Richard Hammond Meets Evel Knievel. I like Richard Hammond from Top Gear, so he was pretty good in this too. He presented all the facts and compiled all the info in a very entertaining way, it's too bad that Evel himself ended up being a bitter old man every time he was on-screen. He was very rude, even though Richard showed him a lot of respect because he was a childhood hero of his. I think he's passed away since. Not sure, but he didn't look very healthy at the time.

Anyway, it was interesting.

This morning, the hubby started early again so I got typing right away and actually added about 1,200 words. The word count is now up to 54,135. This week, I'd like to reach the 70k mark. Of course, that means that I probably won't be able to finish the first draft this week, but I might next week. Cool! We'll see what happens, but we're heading into the showdown scene now and it's going to be a big one because it's not only going to be the end of this book, but the end of this trilogy too. So certain things will be ending.

Although on a side note, I already know how things are going to end for the hero and heroine, and I can't wait to write it.

Okay, gotta get some brekky for my daughter now because we need to leave a little earlier this morning. She's got an excursion on today. Bye for now!

Hey!

How was everyone's weekend? :) We had such a great three days. On Friday we went shopping. We hadn't been to the shops for a long while because of the hubby's hours. It was great. I picked up several new books.

<--- Isn't this pic gorgeous? Talk about inspiration. I love looking at pictures and getting ideas. Speaking of which, I got a few more over the weekend. Just a few littler tales this time. I hope to get the chance to write them this week sometime.

I finally found a copy of HEART-SHAPED BOX by Joe Hill. I've been wanting to get this one for a while. Also picked up a copy of ODD HOURS by Dean Koontz. I guess it's about time I start reading the ODD books.

Oh, and after looking in several stores, my hubby found a copy of TWILIGHT by Stephenie Meyer. Picked it up, of course. I've read a little of it already. Looks like I'll be going back to pick up the other three as well. Just like the hubby said I would. Lol. It's the same thing I did when I started reading the Harry Potter books.

We went to watch THE CLONE WARS on Friday night, and we all enjoyed it heaps. I thought it was great! I'm loving these little side stories. I wonder how many more they'll make? Asides from the TV show, I mean. Next, I can't wait to watch WALL-E and HELLBOY 2. We've already purchased tickets to watch WALL-E at the end of the month. It looks so cute. I know, the US already has these two movies, but we have to wait until the end of this month. :/

On Thursday, I finished the re-write. I added 10,356 words, which raised the word count to 28,740. Today, I'm hoping to read through it one last time, before I send it into my editor. I really hope she likes what I've done with it. I think it's a much better, stronger tale now. I've got a new name for it, too. So that's super cool. I'm about halfway through already. Hoping to finish it later tonight.

Okay, that's it for me today. I hope you all have a great day!

PS. HELLBLAZE is out now! I'm so excited. :D

Did I buy more books? :/

Okay, before I talk about anything else, how about I post my updated progress bar? Yeah, that sounds good.
Here it is:

Like I mentioned the other day, I was hoping to have it finished by today, but I don't think that's going to happen. I would like to add at least another 3k, though. But Fridays are so hard to be productive. I drive the hubby to work, drive back home, and by the time I get back I have less than an hour before it's time to head out again to pick my daughter up from school.

Then, by the time we get home after our walk and settle into the afternoon, it's already dinnertime. Tonight, I'm really going to try to add some words, even if I have to duck into the bedroom with my lappy. Not sure how it'll go, but I would like to. I'm so close to the end at the moment, though I stopped in a pretty heated situation. *cough* It won't be hard to pick up from where I left off, that's for sure.

Next week, I've got plans for another tale, so I'd love to be done with this first draft sometime during Monday. We'll see.

Today, I went by my fave bookstore again and picked up another four books. Lol. What can I say? I'm totally addicted. Anyway, these are the books I got today:
  • COUNTDOWN: Michelle Maddox
  • GALE FORCE: Rachel Caine
  • NIGHTWALKER: Jocelynn Drake
  • THE LAST ANGEL: Natasha Rhodes
I can't wait to get stuck into these ones, too. My gosh, the TBR pile just keeps getting bigger and bigger. What will I read next, after I've finished CRY WOLF? I'm about halfway through at the moment. I would probably have finished it already if it wasn't for me being SO caught up in my own story writing. :)
Anyway, have a nice weekend!

Watched Iron Man!

And... I loved it! Honestly, it was great! Okay, it's much better than great. Robert Downey Jr. was absolutely fantastic. I think he deserves every bit of praise he gets. The story was really cool too, and the special effects - wow. I enjoyed everything about it. And what about that little bit at the end after the credits, huh?! EXCELLENT. I can't wait to see what happens there. Looking forward to it.

The rest of the weekend was really great too. I love the weekends. :)

Unfortunately, we watched AvP Requiem. OMG. Who the hell thought this would be a good idea to make? I mean, I really love the Alien series and Predator. Hell, AvP wasn't so bad either. But this one was absolutely awful. All the human characters were weak and annoying. I was hoping the aliens got them, but didn't really care either way. And some of the subject matter they decided to tackle was so no-no, IMO. Things like babies and pregnant women. Ugh. I didn't like anything about this movie. Even the Predator, which I thought might be the one good thing in it, turned out to be a disappointment. I don't know why they made this crap, but I will now forget I ever watched it. *deleting from memory*

I got a bunch of books on Saturday. New books always make me happy. I got these: Under Darkness by Savannah Russe, Hungers of the Heart by Jenna Black, Armed & Magical by Lisa Shearin and Playing with Fire by Katie MacAlister. I'm still waiting for three more. ;) Oh, and I popped into the eHarlequin store and picked up The Darkest Fire by Gena Showalter and Racing the Moon by Michele Hauf. I can't wait to read them. All of them. :D

Oh, and BTW, Racing the Moon is the very first Nocturne Bites eBook. You've gotta check it out. At the moment you can buy it for 89c. My gosh. How can you pass it up? Michele writes some awesome tales. I can't wait to read it. I'm just in the middle of Under Darkness at the moment, but after this one, I'll be reading both of the eHarlequin Books.

Time to go now. :)
