THIS YEAR'S WRITING GOALS

Hey, November!

So, how are you today? How was your Halloween season? Personally, I think it went too fast, but it doesn't matter because as far as I'm concerned the Halloween vibes never end. 🎃

The world's still a bit of a mess, but a few good things happened this week and that's awesome.

One thing that isn't good is that we found out they're planning to build a fucking data centre a few suburbs away. Near our beloved river! We literally walk around the river path every day. It's such a relaxing place and it's full of birds, insects, and so many other critters, so building one of those monstrosities anywhere near it will destroy a wonderful ecosystem that humans have damaged enough already. FFS.

A protest has been organised later this month and we're definitely going because this is an outrage. It makes me SO angry because I love the river. And asides from all the terrible effects it will have on people, we need to speak up for the animals who'll suffer the consequences of a polluted, toxic river without getting a say.

It makes me so freaking angry. I DESPISE AI and data centres. I really, REALLY want the whole industry to implode already. AI steals from all of us, destroys the environment, and rots brains. It's only there to make money for assholes. It needs to be stopped.

Anyway, time to shift away from the negative.

Guess what? After spending a few weeks reading great books... this week, I ended up revising my second short story collection. Yep. I was going to put it aside for a while but decided to get it done before the end of the  year. Why put it off when I've already reshuffled the stories and put the Word document together?

So far, there's 17 stories. That's 53k words.

I'm very excited about the progress and I think this selection of stories fits a lot better. I've already added the revised version to my Paperwhite and plan to work on the read-thru next week. Yay! ☺️

I also edited a shortie that should be available soon. I'll share more about that soon.

Oh, last weekend we watched CRYSTAL LAKE and OMFG, it was amazing! I honestly wasn't expecting much because why does FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH need a prequel, right? Except, Pamela Voorhees is an intriguing character with an interesting backstory and I enjoyed meeting vulnerable, wholesome Jason. The more I think about it, the more I love how it ties perfectly to the movies and even explains a bunch of questions I didn't even realise I had about Jason.

It's a great show and I highly recommend it.

Well, that's it for now. Just wanted to check in.

Have an awesome weekend! ☺️
