Short Story Time!

Hey! How are you?

Are you getting into the Halloween spirit? I'm pretty much there all year round, but it's always cool to get lost in the creepy horror vibes. 🎃

So, what have you been up to? Personally, I'm trying to adapt to the new season, which isn't an easy thing to do when one day feels like summer and the next one plummets back to winter. Yikes. Feels like we're trapped in an unstable all-season cycle and I can't keep up.

Anyway, we got our blood tests back the other day and they're pretty good. My iron decency has been stabilised after six months of supplements. Now that I'm no longer taking them, I hope the numbers stay that way the next time we get tested.🤞

The last few weeks have been great because my husband got his weekends back (for now) and we've made a few daily changes that make it possible for us to get back into yoga. I've missed yoga because it has a lot of health benefits. Personally, it always helps my flexibility and digestion, and we're already feeling the benefits.

I'm also getting back into the swing of writing. For me, the pathway to getting back on track is working on short stories. And I've been very motivated lately. Mainly it's because I have a bunch of stories I started months ago but never finished, and the inspiration to get back into it has returned with a vengeance.

Here's what I completed during the last week:

• Zombie tale: 2,241

• Vamp tale: 2,327

• Sad Poem: 208

• Possession tale: 2,090

I'm very happy about finally finishing this lot because two of the above have been sitting on my hard drive for ages. It's awesome to feel inspired again.

And you know what? The short story productivity actually inspired me to redo the second volume of my short story collection. Yep. I've changed the entire TOC and even renamed it. There's a stronger feminist/feminine rage/women's experience running through the collection now.

Last night I added the last story so I'm putting the volume aside for a while. After the reshuffle, I want to read the whole document from beginning to end one more time before a final read-thru on my Paperwhite. I'll eventually allocate a time and set myself the goal of getting it done, but for now I need a little distance.

That means concentrating on other projects. Will I keep writing shorties (I still have several unfinished docs left), or will I spend the rest of the year writing the first draft of something longer? Not sure yet.

Oh speaking of short stories... do you know that Wayne Fenlon's latest curated anthology is now available? It's called WHEN THE WORLD STOPPED and it's a HUGE book packed with 31 stories. Yikes! I actually have a story in it called, A PERFECT DAY? It's a Doomsday tale about friendship, confusion, and the end of the world.

If you want to read a bit more about my tale, check it out HERE. Or you can buy a copy HERE.

Well, that's about it for now. I hope you're all having a nice week full of Halloween goodness!
