It's June!

Hey! How's it going? Hope you're having a great month so far. 🙂

Personally, the last few weeks have been a mix of awesome and stressful. Awesome because my husband has been having a few long weekends and spending time together is always fun and cozy. Some of the stress was because of everyday life (licence renewal after 10 years + scheduled health checkup that requires waiting), and the rest is that technology has been really frustrating lately.

For starters, the email app on my phone (Yahoo!) randomly stopped working last weekend. So I uninstalled and reinstalled it (which is how I usually fix these kinds of things), but couldn't get back in. I tried so many times I actually got locked out of my account for several days and only managed to sign back in after I figured out that I had more than one recovery email. It was very stressful.

A few days before that happened, I noticed that my website had a 'not secure' message attached to it and didn't understand why. After further research I figured out it was because I had http instead of https settings. I seriously had no idea what that meant until I started reading up on the difference. This led me to SSL certificates, which led me to Blogger's settings and CNAME, which took me back to my domain provider, and to a bunch of articles and videos that helped me finally understand/complete the process.

Phew. Yeah, it was a LOT! I spent days learning and pondering and searching and waiting. The waiting was a huge factor that made me wonder if I made a wrong move somewhere along the way. But today, during my latest check I noticed this:

That's right! It's now updated on Google search and I'm SO excited. It was quite the learning curve. Starting at no idea and ending up at the screenshot above makes me feel accomplished. And because I'm a glutton for punishment, I'm seriously thinking about updating my website template. Although I've always loved the current design, I have to admit that it's a little 2010s and could definitely do with an upgrade for easier viewing! 😅 

First, I have to find one that I like.

Another thing I decided to do this week was delete my Linktree account. Linktree is about to implement (July 5) some shitty AI additions to their service and, since I despise AI, I got the hell out of there. So, my account no longer exists. Good riddance to yet another company that doesn't give a shit about its customers.

Sadly, that number keeps rising. Ugh.

All of the above has kept me pretty busy and has been mentally exhausting, so in between all of this I spent some time playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Both are awesome games, but Tomodachi is totally addictive. I LOVE it SO freaking much!! 😍

As far as reading and writing goes, I read only one book because I was fixated on all of the above. But I did finish another short story a few weeks ago, and started a new one last week. Gotta keep adding words to that one...
