Reading & Writing

Last night I started reading another great book. It's the new series by Victoria Laurie. She's such a cool writer, and I already love her Abby Cooper mystery series, so I wanted to give this one a go. I wound up reading the first 70 pages, before the hubby got home.

I'd surpassed my daily word count goal and wanted to reward myself with a little bit of reading. It's a lot of fun so far. It's called What's A Ghoul to Do? Clever title. I've already ordered the second one in the series. :)

Anyway, about my own writing. It's going well. Like I mentioned yesterday, a bunch of things have slotted into place. This is going to make the downward spiral of the novel come hard and fast. Actually, when I sit down to write now, I just want to keep going and going. My head's moving a lot faster than my fingers right now. But I have to force myself to stop a few times. To make sure I'm headed in the right direction.

Progress bar:

Looks like I'll be able to get past the 60k mark sometime tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I'm looking forward to it. :) This story is so exciting. I'm having a great time writing it and can't wait to get to the end. Although, I know that once it's finished, I'll be sad. And you know, while I was walking yesterday -- supposed to be thinking about a certain plot point -- the muse decided to tell me she wanted to see more of this world. Yeah, sounds about right! She always does that to me.
But for now, I will resist the temptation. Yeah.
Well, I guess that's it from me today. Let me know what you're working on at the moment: short story, novella, novel? :D

I guess you could call what I'm working on a novella. It's a 35K story for the Red Sage contest. I'm about 6K in. Just getting a feel for the characters. The word count is starting to come easier every day. :)

Hi Ericka! Thank you. I sent your prize on Monday, so you should get it next week sometime. Yay. Hope you like it. And congrats for winning at the chat, too.
