Hello, when will the sun come out?

As you can probably guess by my title, the weather has been horrible in Sydney lately. Actually, since Thursday night, it's pretty much been raining on and off. It's such a drag. The sun has teased us a few times, but it remains mostly hidden and I'm totally over it. I need some sunshine in my life. O_o

Anyway. Today, I have a headache. Or what I like to call the post-book blues. It's when I finalise a book, get it out the door and I feel a little lost afterwards. Even melancholy. I mean, it's super exciting to have gotten the book done and submitted, but I also miss it.

It's totally weird.

The book I'm talking about is Recast #4. I finalised the synopsis yesterday, checked it one last time and submitted it to my lovely editor. *bites nails*

Yeah, as soon as the story is out there waiting to be read by my editor, a new thing happens. I get to stress about whether she'll like it or not. LMAO. Being a writer is filled with all sorts of angst and worry, isn't it? ;)

That's why I need to get stuck into something else...

This week I need a tiny mental break. But I'm hoping to fill in the time with some reading (I'm SO behind on review books and my own TBR pile), writing a handful of guest blog posts, tidying up some of my wandering stationery, updating the Recast Series Bible, and maybe even brainstorming some of the projects I'd like to tackle this year. Exciting stuff!

OMG. Speaking of books, there was this TOTALLY INSANE 90% OFF sale going on at Kobo over the weekend, and I went nuts. NUTS, I tell you. I think I picked up almost 80 books! Yikes. It was awesome. I caught up on a bunch of series that I've fallen behind on.

As you know, I'm a huge reader and spend quite a bit of money buying paperbacks, Kindle books, and even Google Play books. Now I've added Kobo to the mix. I mean, I don't actually have a Kobo, but I have a Galaxy Note 3 so I can read my books on my phone. Like I said, AWESOME! :P

Well, lunchtime is sneaking up on me and I feel like I haven't done anything today. But that's okay, I'm not going to feel guilty over it. Not when I've been working my butt off during the last two weeks getting a story finished.

Have a great day!

Sierra Fox, Sunny Weather & Teeth

Hey!

So, this feels like another Sierra Fox week to me. :)

Seriously, they seem to become all about Sierra a lot... which is actually a very cool thing. I love writing this series, and I'm going to miss it so much when it's done.

That's why my head is buzzing with spin-off ideas, and other stories I could set in this world I love so much. It's driving me batty because my brain is getting crowded. As much as I love Sierra, Papan, Lavie and everyone else, I really am looking forward to getting stuck into new worlds.

Anyway. The print release of SPLIT AT THE SEAMS was yesterday. And in case you missed the news, the fourth book will be released next year. So excited about it. Like I said before, this year has been filled with Sierra Fox goodness. ;)

So, remember how it rained continuously for over a week? This week has been perfect--sunny every day, warm during the day, nights aren't too cold. Like I said, perfect. I always love these short glimpses of spring in the middle of winter. It makes the cold months a little easier to cope with. If I could have spring, summer, and autumn only, I would. I would gladly skip winter. LOL.

Last night marked one week of wearing the splint while sleeping. I have to admit that it's still weird having to wear it every night, but I'm getting used to it. I think it's doing its job too. Or at least I hope it is. The worst thing is that my front teeth hurt a little as soon as I take it off in the morning. Not sure if that's normal or not, but I'll mention it to the dentist on Monday when we go in to (hopefully) pick up hubby's splint.

This is also my daughter's first week of school holidays so I've been catching up on housework, online updating stuff, and sorting through things. No point getting stuck into anything too involved when she has holidays, especially since hubby will be off ALL next week as well. Yay. Can't wait.

Well, that's it for today. Have a great day!

Long time no see...

But I have a several (very) good reason for it:

And don't forget the reviews I've been posting for Bloomsbury. ;) See? That's why I haven't been around lately.

So, what's new? It's been raining almost non-stop for a week now. I'm so sick of it I keep hoping that it will stop soon. If you read my blog then you know that as soon as it rains for more than one day, I complain about it. My limit of rainy days is TWO. Less is fine, but no more. Ugh.

Anyway. Today is my daughter's last day of Term 2, which means she'll be on holidays for two weeks. But this time it's going to be a little different because hubby is also taking the second week off. Yay. So we'll get to spend some time together and hopefully go and watch a movie or two. Cool.

Oh, you know what I picked up the other day? After two very uncomfortable appointments, the splints finally came in. So we popped in for our fittings and mine was fine. Hubby's didn't fit, so he had to get another mold done. Poor guy. I took mine home and have been wearing it the last few nights. I have to admit that having a piece of plastic perfectly molded to your top teeth isn't the most comfy thing in the world, especially when you're trying to fall asleep and it just seems awkward. But what I have noticed is that both mornings I wake up with my bottom teeth pressed right against it, which means I'm clenching my jaw tight every darmn night. O_o

The splint is supposed to help with that, but more importantly, it will make sure that my teeth don't get damaged. Phew. I can put up with the discomfort. Plus, like everything else, once I'm used to it I'm sure it'll just become routine. LOL.

Did you read the first review for ON PINS AND NEEDLES yet? It's awesome, and over at Team Tynga's Reviews. Thanks Jenn! :)

Well, that's about it for now. Just wanted to post a little something.

Have an awesome weekend!

Monday, 3 June 2013

It's June

Yeah, that was me over the weekend. I was just so darn tired, and not feeling 100%. And I have to admit that the fact it pretty much rained all weekend, gave the days that little extra sucky feeling. LOL.

At least hubby and daughter were home, so that was cool.

A lot of Saturday was spent taking naps, and yesterday we watched the last five eps of DEXTER S7. So we're all caught up and ready to watch S8 at the end of this month! I can't believe that it's going to be the last season.

Oh, and BURN NOTICE will be ending soon, too. :(

Boo! Lots of last seasons going around nowadays, which might actually not be a bad thing since there are a BUNCH of new shows I can't wait to watch later on this year. One show I kinda wish would end is GAME OF THRONES. I swear, I loved the first two seasons and then this season something happened: the boring set in. I'm at the stage where I'm not looking forward to watching it, keep yawning when I do, and can't wait until this season's over and done with. Not even the dragons can save it for me now. O_o

So, what have I got planned for this week? I've got a small to-do list to tackle. I've crossed off a few things already, but I feel like I'm moving super slow today. It might have something to do with the fact that hubby and I have our second splint-fitting appointment with the dentist later this afternoon. :/ The first fitting sucked, so I'm not looking forward to this one.

The only good thing about this is that once I have the splint, the annoying grinding and clenching while I sleep will stop affecting me the way it does now. It's such a horrible feeling, to wake up knowing you've been grinding your teeth and/or clenching your jaw.

My gosh, can you believe ON PINS AND NEEDLES will be released later this month? I can't, but I'm super excited about it.

Well, that's it for today.

Monday, 3 December 2012

It's a wet Monday...

Yeah, it is. And I'm kinda over the shitty rainy weather already. Sure, it's only been going for a few days but it's summer now and I want me some sunny, lovely days with blue skies. Not this dark and dreary crap that belongs in winter. :/

Enough bitching about the weather.

We had an awesome weekend, though I wish it wasn't over. They're never long enough, are they? I did get some awesome (awesome) news that had me giddy all weekend. Okay, I'm still giddy about it. Hopefully I can share the news soon. :)

Hubby coloured my hair on Saturday, and it looks great! I was also happy about not suffering any sort of allergic reaction, like what happened in early October. I went back to using the brand that was working for me, just chose a different colour. This time I used Raspberry Black, and I really like it.

So, what else did I do? Well, not much really. We had a nice relaxing weekend, though we did buy my daughter's high school uniform! I can't believe she's starting high school next year. Actually, this Wednesday, I'm going to attend Orientation Day. Yikes!

Okay. That's it for today. Haven't got much planned for this week, except for the to-do list I put together last week.

BTW, if you're interested... I blogged over at Samhain last Friday.

Have a nice day!

Friday, 17 August 2012

It's the end of the week!

I have to admit that I didn't get as much done as I hoped to.

To start with, I'm still reading the same book I started last weekend. And I didn't reach the end of the second draft I started on Monday.

As I mentioned the other day, I was moving a lot slower than I wanted to but I've just been so distracted lately. :/

Today, I was hoping to get to page 200 so that I could get this finished on Monday. I'm now done for the day and have reached page 170/234. The word count is now sitting at 91,076, which is why I went super slow today. Instead of revision on the latest chapter, I wound up pretty much rewriting it. I'm glad that I did because the barbaric nature of it, as well as the emotional impact, is a lot heavier and will actually change a few consequences later on. But still, I was hoping for more progress, lol.

Oh well, that leaves me with 64 pages to go. Probably won't get them done on Monday... but Tuesday seems like a possibility. That's right, gotta keep that positive thinking going!

I don't know what the hell happened to the weather today, but a perfectly beautiful cloudless morning has turned into a super windy and dark afternoon. WTF? I don't know what's going on with this weather, but I want my sunshine back. ;)

Okay. The weekend's just around the corner, and I think I need it. Hopefully a few days away from the revision will revitalise my brain. At least, I hope it does.

Thursday, 14 June 2012

I'm still here!

Wow. Has it really been a week since my last post? O_o

When I get stuck into a first draft, I pretty much spend every single available minute I have adding new words. Actually, since I finished the book I was reading on Friday night, I haven't picked up another one. I can't get the story I'm writing outta my head.

Even when I'm not actually writing, I'm thinking about it and can't concentrate on reading anything else. Oh, and since I received the A PATCH OF DARKNESS galley, it looks like that'll be the next thing I read. :)

I'm so excited about APoD coming out in print next year. I'll keep you posted on the progress and dates, etc.

So, what I've decided to do is add as many words as I can to Sierra Fox #3 for the rest of this week. I'm hoping to reach the halfway point. Then next week, I'll alternate between new words for Book #3 and reading the galley for Book #1. Phew. I'm getting tired just thinking about it. LOL.

It'll keep me busy, but if I can get stuck into both projects for the rest of the month... I might just get them done in time for my daughter's school holidays. Yeah, she'll be on holidays during the first two weeks of July.

Oh, and in case you're interested, I've been posting my word count progress over @LJ.

As of this morning, I'm sitting on 38,418 words.

I don't know how the weather is where you live, but here in Sydney we've been having a shocking June. It's all rain and small glimpses of the sun--if we're lucky--before the rain decides to pour down again. I absolutely hate it! I miss the sun. I need the sun. This constant overcast/rainy weather is so depressing.

Anyway. Have a great day!

Monday, 12 March 2012

Yeah, I knew it...

the rain couldn't hold out for too long. It actually didn't rain at all yesterday. Though I can't remember if it did or not on Saturday because all of the rainy days are starting to blur into each other. O_o

But this morning, it started up again while I was halfway through my walk by the river. Damn! I would just love a few weeks of sunny, lovely weather. Is that too much to ask for after we practically missed out on summer? I don't think it is.

Sorry, I'm still not feeling 100% so I'm a little cranky. It doesn't take much to irritate me at the moment.

Hubby and I finally picked up the antibiotics the doctor prescribed if we weren't feeling better by Friday. A few days into it, and I feel like they are making a difference. Though taking the bullet-sized capsules is quite an ordeal. I mean, my throat hurts and is clogged up, so having to take such a huge capsule is not the easiest thing to do at the moment. I've been cheating--cutting it in half, and swallowing the two halves separately. And even then, my gosh, I can feel each bit as if it's getting stuck on the way down. Yuck!

Can't wait to be done with the treatment.

So, I've decided that today I'm going to work on some guest blog posts I owe for the month of May. They're for several guest spots I've lined up for the release of my first Sierra Fox book. I have eight to write, so if I can get through at least the first draft of half of those by the end of today, that would be awesome!

I'm not sure if it's because of the way I feel at the moment, but I'm reading the sequel for a book that I absolutely loved last year. The first book in the trilogy was outstanding, so I couldn't wait to get stuck into the next one. And now that I am getting stuck into it, there's just something that keeps me from loving it. I'm not sure what, or why, but it's not the awesome book I was expecting. Maybe it's my fault because I was expecting too much. Not sure. But I won't judge it until I get to the very end...

Well, that's all for today. Wish me luck on being productive! ;)

Tuesday, 13 December 2011

I think summer's decided to skip us this year...

Seriously. That's what it feels like around here.

We have one or two hot and sunny days, then spend the next few weeks drowned with rain. Saying I'm sick of it doesn't actually capture how much I wish summer would just settle in. I feel like I'm in a constant state of winter, and I can't stand it. :(

It's kinda depressing, but I'm determined to stay positive.

This week is the last week of school for 2011. Starting this weekend, my daughter will be on summer school holidays for about 6 weeks. She goes back on January 30, 2012. Yikes. That sounds like a long way away, huh? Still, she's older now and has some stuff planned during her time off. Which reminds me, I need to schedule what I'd like to work on during what's left of December and the whole of January...

I'll do that sometime this week. Unless I get edits in my Inbox during the next few weeks, I don't have any other solid project deadlines for myself. I've managed to meet my two big ones: revising Recast #3 and Sierra Fox #2 before the end of this month. I'm still very excited about these two. Though I will be biting my nails until I hear back from my awesome editor!

So, as far as this week goes, I'm using it to relax, sort, file, think, take notes, and catch up on my reading. I've got so many awesome books to read, and have totally fallen behind. It's time to sit on the couch with Loki and catch up on it. At the moment I'm reading the Flipback edition of Misery. I'm almost halfway through and can't believe how awesome and distressing it is. lol.

I've also updated My Reading page and added a bunch of 'Up Next' books. :)

Today, I've already sorted through some of my computer files. Whenever I'm working on something, I make such a mess of the Desktop and my USB drive.

Have a great day!

Enough with the rain, I reckon!

Seriously.

It's now Thursday, and the rain hit on Sunday afternoon. What does that add up to? Too many rainy days. In some cases, it happened to be endless rain. :(

Looks like it's not raining right now, but it's still very dark out there.

I've said this before: I don't mind walking in the rain. Actually, I do it often. But my morning walks include going past a spot in the river path that floods when it rains too much... which is where I found myself yesterday. It wasn't fun, and it makes the walk feel like it goes forever. Instead of being pleasant and lovely.

So, let's hope today is the day where the sun finally breaks through! (I wish, lol)

Anyway. Onto more exciting things...

Recast, Book 2: CLASH is now listed for pre-order for the Kindle and the Nook. How awesome is that? If you pre-order it, it's available at a cheaper price. So, yay! ;)

This made me smile.

Another thing that makes me smile is getting things done. This week, the things I'm slowly crossing off my to-do list aren't as huge as getting closer to finishing a story, or a revision draft, or even an editing round. But they are essential things that I need cleared up before starting the first round of edits on Sierra Fox #1, finishing up #2, or even starting #3. So, I'm very excited about the extra research, brainstorming, and sorting through I've been doing. Like I said yesterday, it's mostly behind-the-scenes stuff, but it's still very important.

There'll be much of the same going on today, but I'm looking forward to it. It's fun!

Well, have a nice day. (Better than mine if it's not raining where you're at.)

Friday, 9 September 2011

I need an umbrella today

Well, the rain held out all of yesterday, but it's here today. :(

We had to buy a new fridge last night. Yeah, it seems like all of our appliances are dying this year. To be fair, though, we've had this fridge since we moved in here... and that was almost 13 years ago. So it did last for ages!

The last week it's been making funny noises, so we decided it was better to buy a new fridge now. Instead of waiting until it breaks down completely and we have to rush around looking for one and letting food spoil. It's best this way. It'll be delivered tomorrow.

What can you do? Did I mention that our LCD TV broke about 4 weeks ago? Yeah. The technician guy came to take a look and said it was serious... fast-forward 4 weeks, and we got a replacement TV. Awesome. It's a Samsung 40" Smart 3DTV LCD/LED. It's very cool. Hubby loves it. And I was really starting to miss our TV. So this worked out way better. Thank you, Extended Warranty! ;)

Today's turning out to be a strange day. I don't have anything planned, not really. Well, except for patching up some jeans I've been meaning to fix for months, and making Loki a new cushion for his bed. I got these things done this morning, so I'm glad.

Next, I'm going to have some lunch. Then, I'll probably either read for a bit, or add more notes to Sierra Fox's notebook. Next week, I begin planning and getting into my next writing project...

Have a great weekend!

Friday, 5 August 2011

Hello!

Wow, I didn't realise I hadn't popped in here for days. But things have been super busy this week.

Remember how I mentioned we were going to see CAPTAIN AMERICA the other night? Well, we went, and OMG was it awesome! I absolutely loved everything about it. I seriously enjoyed it, and can't wait to see it again. (And not just because I'm a huge Chris Evans fan, either.)

Oh, and if you go to watch it, make sure you stay until the very end. I mean, don't move until the credits are done, because it's well worth it! ;)

I've been very impressed with the Marvel movies so far, and look forward to The Avengers movie next year.

Well, as of this morning, IRIS is done. I spent a big chunk of yesterday going through the proof, which meant I didn't get a chance to add many new words to my current WIP. So, for the last two days, all I managed to add was just over 2,000 words.

That means the Sierra Fox #2 word count has hit 10,882. Which, considering my goal for the end of today is 20k, isn't really that great. :/ Still, I intend to spend all day writing.

Realistically speaking, if I can reach the 15k mark, I think that would be great progress. I've actually got pages full of notes for the next three chapters, everything's really coming alive in this installment now... and I can't wait to get stuck into the thick of things. Poor Sierra, she's going to go through some pretty bad things in this one. Mean writer that I am! ;)

The weather this week has been outstanding, though. We've had clear skies and warm temps all week. I hope it continues, because I've got no problem getting stuck into spring a month early. lol.

Well, better get going now. Have a great weekend!

Another Rainy Day

Yeah. Looks like this yucky, wet weather is going to stick around for a while longer. Not too long, I hope. I'm already over it. :(

I've got a quota of two rainy days before I'm totally sick of them.

Remember those guest blog posts I wrote the other day? Well, they're both live:

If you have a spare sec, pop on over and say 'Hi'. :D

Well, yesterday turned out to be quite a relaxing day. I caught up on some online stuff, read a bit, grabbed my calendar and started slotting some writing goals from now until the end of the year, and even managed to do a little cleaning/dusting/sorting. The kinds of things that I've been neglecting for weeks, because there's been so much to do.

I expect today will be about the same. I've got several things I'd like to do, and reading is definitely one of them. I'm really enjoying the book I'm reading at the moment. Which is always an awesome thing, right?

Well, that's it for now. I'm going to get ready to head out and drop my daughter off at school. And then, well, I'll have to cut my walking short because my usual route gets flooded. :( Like I said, I'm just about ready for some sunshine.

See ya tomorrow!

Wednesday, 20 July 2011

So...

You know how most people chat about the weather when they don't have anything else to talk about? Well, I talk about the weather all the time. Seriously. I like to talk about it when it's nice, when it's crappy, and even in between. It makes no difference to me. I just like it. ;)

LMAO.

At the moment, we're in the middle of winter and have been having some pretty shitty weather. Like, the sun might be out for several days, and then the rain sets in for a lot longer. As well as some crazy-ass wind. They're both pretty bad on their own, but when they hit together--it's horrid!

Yesterday started out as a sunny, mildly cold morning. It was lovely, really. Cold, but still nice enough to enjoy my daily walk by the river. Then, when I sat down at the computer after lunch, I noticed the sun had disappeared, and then the temperature plummeted to almost artic conditions. Oh, and as soon as I stepped outside, it started to rain. :( Talk about crappy. By the time we got back from picking my daughter up from school, the wind had picked up, too. And during the night, the combination of torrential rain and horrible wind woke me up several times. Boo!

The torrential rain seems to have stopped for now, but only 30 minutes ago, it was going nuts out there. Which makes it really hard for getting my daughter to school. Not just because we walk there--which will be hard enough--but it will also be pretty cold and hellish at school. What to do??

Ugh. Winter sucks.

So. Anyway. Remember that small to-do list I had yesterday? Well, I managed to cross everything off. Yay. It always feels great when you set goals for yourself and get them done. :)

Today, I've decided to take it easy. Have a kinda day off from things, which will probably entail me trying to organise my writing schedule from now, until the end of the year. :) Besides, I haven't been feeling the best this week. I've got some cold and/or flu symptons. So every workout I do takes it out of me, but at the same time, it helps strengthen me against being sick. Catch 22, anyone? lol.

What else? Oh yeah, I read this small article the other day. It's about how Charlaine Harris will be ending the Sookie Stackhouse series at Book 13. This makes me sad, because I love the series and I'll miss Sookie and the gang. But it also makes me wonder what other series she'll introduce us to. I loved the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries series, the Lily Bard Mysteries series, and the Harper Connelly series. So I can't wait to see which character/s and world she'll be releasing next...

Well, just spoke to my daughter and it looks like she wants to go to school. O_o Ah, okay. Looks like I'll be getting pummelled by the rain and wind very soon. Unless Mother Nature decides to give me a break and stops for a tiny while. Cross your fingers for me.

See ya!

Bad blogger

Yeah, I've been terrible the last few days. :( Time's been slipping away from me so quickly.

Why is there always so much to do? lol

Anyway. Today started out bright and sunny, but before I realised what was happening, the sky filled with dark clouds and a violent wind kicked up. It got seriously cold too. I nearly got blown away when I walked over to pick my daughter up from school. At least we came home right away and have been warm and indoors ever since. Cool!

So. I didn't add as many words as I was hoping today, but the total word count has now reached 42,770. I'm ahead of my scheduled daily word counts and am nearing the end. Well, not quite there yet, but I can see it. A lot of crazy stuff still has to happen, though.

I'd like to have this first draft done by the end of this month, but if I go nuts on the word count for the rest of the week, I could finish sooner. Fingers crossed. I've had a few (excellent!) distractions lately.

Well. It's still early, but I'm really tired. Think it's time to get some sleep.

Good night!

Wednesday, 25 May 2011

It's cold outside!

After enjoying some mild and very sunny days lately, a sudden change in the weather is a rude shock! Yesterday, out of nowhere, a lovely morning turned into a yucky afternoon. And this morning, it's super cold and windy. At least it's not raining anymore. :/

I feel bad for my daughter, because today she's taking part in the Girls Paul Kelly Cup (AFL/Auskick) and has to be outside all day. Her team made it to the regional finals, which is super cool since the boy's team didn't, lol. I hope they do well! I also hope she stays warm. Oh, and that the rain waits until tonight...

So, what's new with all of you this week?

I managed to finish the novella revision I've been working on and even emailed it in. Now all I can do is wait and keep my fingers crossed. :) Also, I can move onto something else. Though today I think I'll just sort out a few bits & pieces, and catch up on reading. I'm really enjoying an awesome book at the moment, and I have about 100 pages left to read. Can't wait!

Before I go, did you guys read this? OMG, I can't believe the moron who predicted the Rapture is still insisting that it's going to happen. Now he's changed the date to October 21. Seriously, what's he got against the 21st of the month? This old guy is seriously disturbed. It would've been better for him to go into hiding after the non-event on Saturday. LMAO.

Oh well. Looks like we'll be having another good laugh on Twitter in October, at his expense. ;)

See ya!

Tuesday, 3 May 2011

Happy New Week!

Well, it's already Tuesday, but it's still pretty new, right? ;)

So. Y'know how I was complaining about the shitty weather last week? On Sunday, the sun finally returned and the temperature was actually quite warm. It was lovely, and we decided to go for a really nice, long walk before the weather decided to change again. Luckily, it stayed all day...

Yet, I can't bring myself to fully trust the weather. I keep waiting for the clouds to close in again and the rain to return. I had good reason to. As soon as I woke up on Monday: bleak sky + rain = another crappy day in Sydney. WTF's going on with this weather? I'm so over it, already. Bring back the sun and let it stay.

Anyway. The weather's not going to stop me from attacking my to-do list. As I mentioned on Saturday, I finished another story. This time it was a novella, just under 35k-long. I also worked on the synopsis yesterday and got it all finished today. I just submitted it. Now, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed.

Of course, there are still a bunch of other things I've got to do and I think I'll be getting another round of edits sometime this week. It's always busy-busy around here, huh? How have you guys been lately?

Have a great week!

Rain, rain, go away!

As you can probably guess, it's still raining here in Sydney. :(

Seriously, every time I think it's going to stop because the sun makes an appearance, the next time I look out the window it's dark again. And it's not just a little drizzle either, it was pouring down this morning.

I think I ruined my sneaker/boots the other day because I stepped into so many puddles. Boo! I've had enough of it. I just wish it would go away. I miss the sun so much.

Anyway, enough crying about the weather.

This week has been a little strange. My daughter didn't go back to school until Thursday, and although I intended to work on a novella revision, I ended up spending most of the day reading. lol. I was just too exhausted from the school holidays. So I've had a chance to catch up on some reviews I owed. Only have a few left now. Cool!

I did, however, get stuck into the revision yesterday and got it finished this morning. Yay! The total word count ended up being 34,694, which fits perfectly into the guidelines. I just need to write a synopsis (hate writing those things!) and then, submit it. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of next week.

I've now managed to get a bunch of stuff off my to-do list, so I think it's time to schedule a new one for the next few months...

Well, have a great weekend!

I'm so sick of the rain...

Yes, I am.

Seriously, it's been raining on-and-off for the last four days and I'm so over it. I want the clouds to clear. I want to see a blue sky. Hell, I want to see the sun. It feels like I haven't seen it for so long.

So much rain makes the days feel lazy and drowsy. Actually, I spent much of the long weekend reading and napping, lol. We missed out on several walks because the rain didn't let up, and were lucky to find a few openings to go out. It sucks when it's like this. And it's supposed to keep going this way for a while yet.

I really hope they're wrong. :(

Anyway. Today is the day when everything goes back to normal. Well, not everything. My daughter is still home for one more day. She goes back to school tomorrow, but hubby went back to work this morning. As for me, I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet...

I was thinking of trying to squeeze in the third/final draft for that 33k-novella I wrote at the beginning of March. Then again, I'm kinda waiting for a bunch of edits to come in. Maybe I'll keep reading and try to plan ahead for the next month. Or maybe I can make a start on that revision. Not sure yet. With most of the week already gone, I can't help but feel a little meh! about it all. lol.

Well, I hope you're all having a great week!

Time to Plan. I think.

Well, it looks like the weather's decided to cool down. Again. It's amazing how quickly this summer has gone from hot-to-cool, and back again. To be honest, it hasn't been that great a summer. As far as weather goes. :/

So... how are you all today?

I noticed that NUMB6R OF TH6 B6AST is now available in print. But only at Amazon at the moment. It should show up at The Book Depository sometime next month. Yay.

Also, Naomi Clark is offering a free short story set in the same world as AFTERLIFE and her upcoming, DEMONISED. It's about PI Ethan Banning--a character that I can't wait to meet. You can check out how to get a copy of the short story, right here. I've already got my copy on my Kindle, and plan to read it before I get stuck into AFTERLIFE. :)

Oh, and I think this is hilarious. And totally cute. I love cats. They do the craziest things. lol.

As you can probably tell, I've pretty much spent the last week reading one book after another. And it's been a LOT of fun. I love reading, and catching up on some of the awesome YA books I've had sitting on my bookshelf for a while is awesome. There are still a lot of books to read on there, but I'm slowly working my way through them, and having a blast. Actually, during the last week, I've read about seven books and there was only one I didn't like. Those are some great odds! ;)

This week, I plan to do some real planning about what to write next. Last week, I really needed a mental break. It felt good to just relax on the couch with a book, take the odd note here and there, catch up on some online stuff, etc. But this week, I want to actually plan out what I'd like to work on next. And since March is only about a week away, I think this is a great time to get myself organised to get stuck into something next Monday...

Oh yeah, and that YA UF idea I mentioned last week? Well, it's become a lot more than just fragments and a circle of friends. The story's coming together, the main characters have names, and I've only got one major thing that needs to be figured out before I can really get stuck into it. :) Love it when that happens!

Anyway. Hope you all have a lovely week.
