My daughter's had this book for several years and really liked it, but I hadn't read it yet, so I borrowed it from her last night and got stuck into it...
What's a boy to do when he wants his friend's goldfish and nothing catches his friend's eye? Swap his Dad for the goldfish, of course. All Dad does is read the newspaper, so why not? :P And so begins a quirky adventure that sends a snickering brother and sister across town in order to swap their Dad back.
LOL.
This is a lovely little story with gorgeous and unique artwork. I also enjoyed the Afterword because I love reading about what sparks a story.
Great book! Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean sure make a great team.
