DRAGON WYTCH

"The Equinox is coming, and mayhem rules. A crown-prince unicorn offers us a legendary gift, but it vanishes. Goblins and trolls swarm the streets of Seattle. And now Smoky, the sexiest dragon alive, decides to stake his claim--on me. Overshadowing it all, the third spirit seal surfaces and Shadow Wing's after it. But I've discovered a secret that could change everything. A new power is rising--a dangerous force from the past--one that intends to restore balance to the worlds...whether we like it or not..."

This is the fourth book in Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld Series, and I LOVED it! Honestly, this series never disappoints. There's always so much going on that you feel like you're right there with the D'Artigo Sisters. It really gets your heart pumping and keeps you glued to the story.

Every time I picked the book up, I felt like I was transported to another world. That's always such a good feeling when you're reading a story. Oh, and the fact that it felt like I was catching up with old friends, too. The only problem is that because my daughter's on school holidays, I didn't get the chance to sit down and read in long sessions, which is what I would've preferred with a great book like this one. :)

Still, I enjoyed every minute of this story. Bring on the next one...

PS. I LOVE these covers, they're so beautiful.

NIGHT CHILD

Tess Corday, Occult Special Investigator for Vancouver’s Mystical Crime Lab, is used to seeing dead vampires. But there’s nothing ordinary about this case. Not the lab results on the cause of death. Not the teenage girl living at the address found in the vamp’s pocket, who may well be in thrall to a demon. And certainly not Lucian Agrado, the necromancer who is liaison to the vampire community. Agrado is supposed to be part of the solution, but Tess suspects he might be part of the problem.

Soon she finds herself in the middle of a paranormal conspiracy that will change her life forever—and possibly end it.

I can't believe I forgot to post that I've read this AWESOME book! My gosh. I finished it a few weeks ago and loved it so much that I can't wait to read the next one in the series. It's the first OSI novel, and it sure sucks you in from the very beginning.

I love the world Jes has created. Tess is an awesome lead character. Someone with many flaws, she's made several mistakes along the way but at the end of the day, knows how to get the job done. Like I said, I can't wait to read more. There was a bit of everything. :)

Urban Fantasy fans should definitely check this one out!

It's the middle of the week... already!

It looks pretty dark out there today. I think it might rain. Not sure, though, because it looked pretty much the same yesterday and the sun made a few appearances.

You know, I personally don't mind walking in the rain. Of course, if it's pouring, it can be a little (or a lot) annoying... but mostly, I find it very refreshing. But I have to be walking on my own. It's a total pain if it's raining and I've got my daughter with me. I worry about her catching a cold or something.

Speaking of my daughter, she's been home with me all week. So far, it's been going pretty well. She does her own thing for a while in the afternoon just after the hubby leaves for work, and I get a chance to catch up on all my internet stuff. Then we go for a nice walk and get back to do something together. I think she likes that. I've had to alter my writing time. Instead of squeezing some in during the day, I now find myself writing mostly after she's tucked into bed.

At the moment, I'm working on a zombie story. I got up to 6,214 words last night and would love to wrap it up tonight. I know where it's going to lead me. No happy endings in this one, but I think it'll end up being a suspenseful, horror tale. Which is exactly what I'm aiming for. :) Lots of violent stuff has happened already and I re-read it from the beginning last night because I wanted to change a few things.

I was originally going to write in the POV of a teenage girl, but when I decided to change the timeline, I had to change her age too. The direction of the whole story kinda changed then too. I'm much happier with it. Although she thought she may have reached safety, she'll be off again very soon. And you know, writing this story has given me a few other zombie/apocalyptic story ideas. For longer stories. I want this one to be a shortie.

Anyway, just thought I'd check in now because I've got some stuff I need to take care of later. Nothing exciting, just some other online stuff, walking and going to the post office. Again. I seem to be sending something almost everyday now. :)

Have a great one!
