An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: there is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living. This volume follows our band of survivors as they set up a permanent camp inside a prison. Relationships change, characters die, and our team of survivors learn there's something far more deadly than zombies out there: each other.
The third volume of The Walking Dead includes issues 13-18, and is absolutely awesome!
The small group of survivors has stumbled on a jail and can't believe their (possible) luck. If they can clear the zombies, they could actually start a real life here. There's sure to be food, they'll be protected by the fences, and will have relative safety for once. Of course, things aren't ever that easy and they soon find themselves in the middle of some pretty shocking situations that aren't caused by the walking dead.
I couldn't believe some of the shocking things that happen in this volume. You'd think that most of the world being dead around them and willing to eat them would be enough to bring the best out of people. Instead, it makes them worse--paranoid, crazed, and willing to do things they never would have before.
My gosh, I'm so glad I decided to get stuck into these. It's an amazing story. Now, onto the next volume...
