THREE DAYS TO DEAD by Kelly Meding

They’ll never see her coming. . . .

When Evangeline Stone wakes up naked and bruised on a cold slab at the morgue—in a stranger’s body, with no memory of who she is and how she got there—her troubles are only just beginning. Before that night she and the two other members of her Triad were the city’s star bounty hunters, mercilessly cleansing the city of the murderous creatures living in the shadows, from vampires to shape-shifters to trolls. Then something terrible happened that not only cost all three of them their lives but also convinced the city’s other Hunters that Evy was a traitor—and she can’t even remember what it was.

Now she’s a fugitive, piecing together her memory, trying to deal some serious justice—and discovering that she has only three days to solve her own murder before the reincarnation spell wears off. Because in three days Evy will die again—but this time there’s no second chance...

This is another one of those books that I've had on my TBR pile for a while. I've been meaning to pick it up for ages, but something else always seemed to get in the way. The other day, I decided it was time to get stuck into it. And boy, did I ever!

Evangeline Stone is a tough Dreg Bounty Hunter. She hunts monsters down in a city filled with them. But the night she wakes up inside a morgue, in someone else's body, she can't remember how she got there. Or why she's suddenly in a dead woman's body. So she sets off on a harsh and very dangerous adventure to find out what happened to her, and why she died. In the process, she connects with her Handler, gets chased by some horrible creatures, as well as other Hunters, and slowly pieces together a conspiracy that will turn both the Dreg and human world upside down. Of course, remembering how she died adds a new level of heartbreak.

Oh, and she's only got three days to find her way out of this very dark trouble...

Man! This book was totally amazing. Not only is it fast-paced and filled with danger at every turn, but there are a lot of very interesting creatures--some are friends, and some are enemies. But all of them help get her closer to the awful truth.

I also really liked Evy. She's thrust into an impossible situation, but gets on with it, no matter how dangerous things get. No matter how horrible the situation is. Oh, and Wyatt was also an awesome character who is willing to sacrifice everything for Evy.

Yeah, I loved this book. So much that I ordered the second book in the series last night. :)

H&UFRC books read: 38/24
