Okay, so I finished reading this wonderful book tonight and just had to rave about it. WOW, it was absolutely fantastic! Marjorie M Liu has certainly painted a beautiful story with words. The story is interesting and totally grabs you so much you become intoxicated with what's going on. Woah, and the characters are so emotionally charged I felt like I was living through everything with them.
It all starts when Dela buys a strange but gorgeous box in the Dirt Market while she's in China. Once she opens it she becomes part of a very magical situation. Oh, and Dela's got some metal powers of her own. The connection between Dela and Hari is utterly romantic and beautiful, every emotion perfectly portrayed until you find yourself cheering this couple on when the many obstacles that present themselves in their way seem too much.
Anyway, I loved it! Loved it, loved it, loved it. Honestly, Marjorie's got a terrific and unique voice. I can't wait to read more of her writing! The second in the Dirk & Steele series is out this month, it's called SHADOW TOUCH and I can't wait to read it.
I highly recommend this book. Awesome reading experience!
