OMG. I love this series! I enjoyed the first two books so much I was really looking forward to reading the third. And it didn't disappoint.
Edie Spence is a nurse and since she was shunned--for her own safety--from the supernatural community six months ago, her life has gone downhill. She lost her job at the County Hospital and has been working the night shift in a sleep apnea clinic. Everything gets worse when her mother tells her she's ill. :(
So when Edie applies for a job in a health clinic, she decides to devote herself to her new job. And starts to get to know the mysterious doctor, Hector. But instead of getting on with a new 'normal' life, she once again gets caught up with vampires and shapeshifters. And if she can find someone along the way to help her mother, all the better.
There were quite a few unexpected surprises in this book, as well as the return of Edie's zombie ex. I loved the Santa Muerte angle and all the Hispanic superstitions. Oh, and Olympio cracked me up. Such a smarty pants kid with so much courage. Edie and Olympio made a great team!
This installment was awesome. I'm loving this series and can't wait to read the next one. Good thing I've already pre-ordered it. ;)
