OMG. This book was amazing! It has a bit of everything: a feisty heroine, a brooding hero, excitement, adventure, danger, romance, and an intriguing paranormal angle. And it's all happening during 1927, in San Francisco!
Awesome.
Aida is a spirit medium. Winter is a wealthy bootlegger. When they meet during some very bizarre circumstances, sparks fly. The chemistry between these two sizzled off the pages. The sexual tension so strong it was only a matter of time before it ended in some pretty hot sensual encounters. But they both carry a lot of baggage, which turns out to work against them...especially since they're both so stubborn!
The supernatural angle and the mystery that got Aida and Winter together in the first place hooked me in right away. I also loved the Chinatown story. The atmosphere and era were fascinating. The characters all interesting, strong and flawed.
This is how paranormal romance should be done.
Yeah, I loved this book. Looks like I'm going to pre-order the next one right now. :)
