THE ASSASSIN AND THE PRINCESS/ THE ASSASSIN AND THE CAPTAIN by Sarah J Maas

Last year, I took part in featuring an exclusive short story to celebrate the release of Crown of Midnight. I posted Part 7, but didn't actually read the story until today. And while I was at it, I squeezed in another story too.

THE ASSASSIN AND THE PRINCESS

I really enjoyed this short story about Celaena and Nehemia going out for the day and pretending that they're just two girls spending a day in the city. But a visit to one of Celaena's favourite stores, in search of dresses and accessories, quickly reminds them that they can never leave behind who they are.

It was nice to see Celaena being in a comfortable friendship with a girl, and it be truly mutual. No secrets, lies, or planned betrayals to get in the way.

THE ASSASSIN AND THE CAPTAIN

This was a really short story, felt more like a deleted scene really. But I still enjoyed the interaction between Celaena and Chaol. They make a great couple, and since this takes place before everything crumbles around them, it was a nice change of pace.

Both of these were fun, easy reads. Especially since I've been catching up on all The Throne of Glass stories. As of now, I'm up to date. :)
