DOLL BONES by Holly Black

Wow. What an amazing tale of friendship, childish stories/games, and growing up. I absolutely loved every minute of this intriguing and sometimes creepy story.

Zach, Alice and Poppy are close friends that enjoy playing adventure games with their dolls, action figures and imaginations. But that all changes when Zach's father throws away all of his toys because he claims it's time to grow up. This is so devastating that Zach becomes angry with everyone and turns his back on his friends.

Well, until Poppy and Alice visit him one night and insist they have to get the Queen--a creepy porcelain doll that might be made from the bones of a dead girl called Eleanor--to her grave. What follows is an amazing, and hard quest that helps the three friends on several levels.

Like I said above, this is an excellent and very exciting book. Not to mention, lovely. The illustrations were so nice.

Holly Black has done it again. :)
