I have to slot things into my day to make sure I maximise my time. And that's exactly what I've been doing this week, which is even harder when your child is on school holidays.
Still, she's eleven (turning twelve later this year) and very understanding, even supportive. So it's actually been a nice few weeks with her.
The good news is that the edit is now done! I just finished it up this morning and even emailed it back to my editor. *collapse*
Seriously, it was a lot of fun to edit Sierra's second book... but there was a lot more work involved in the second half of the book than in the first. So even though I breezed through the first 162 pages, it took longer to get through the remaining 112. I'm very happy with how it turned out. It's very exciting, and just makes me want to dive right into the revision for Book #3. But I can't. I should leave a few more weeks before returning to it.
I'm going to reward myself by spending the rest of the weekend hanging out with hubby and daughter. I'll also sneak in some reading. I started this excellent zombie book at the beginning of the week, but haven't gotten very far because the edits were pretty much consuming every spare moment of this week. ;)
Have a great weekend!
