GLITCHES by Marissa Meyer

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. In “Glitches,” a short prequel story to Cinder, we see the results of that illness play out, and the emotional toll that takes on Cinder. Something that may, or may not, be a glitch....

I've got CINDER on my TBR pile, so when I found out about this prequel novella, I decided to read it first.

Cinder is a cyborg. She can't remember much before the surgeries that turned her into what she is now, but she's just being adopted by Garan. When she gets to his home in New Beijing and meets his wife and two daughters, she's shy and uncertain of how she'll fit in, but it doesn't take long for one of the girls to make her feel welcome. The other seems to resent Cinder, and their mother thinks she's monstrous.

This is the story of how she became part of the family.

I think it's a great introduction to Cinder, and now I can't wait to read her story. I'm also looking forward to finding out all about her past and what happened to her...

BTW, you can read the story HERE.
