Gabriel is a five-hundred-year-old vampire with the soul of a Killer. He has defeated his mother in a battle for the territory of Baltimore, and vowed to take vengeance upon his father, the Master of Philadelphia, for a centuries-old betrayal.
Jezebel, Gabriel's new fledgling, is a soul as scarred as his own, yet Gabriel finds that the ice around his heart slowly melts when she is near. But one of Gabriel's ancient enemies has targeted her--and if Gabriel wants to save her, he will have to abandon his plans for revenge and join forces with his father.
The question is not whether or not Gabriel can redeem himself from his past, but whether he can ever forgive himself.
This is the third book in Jenna Black's GUARDIANS OF THE NIGHT SERIES. I really, really enjoy this series. It's awesome! And with every new book, the world of the Guardians just gets bigger and better. There were so many cool and unexpected turn of events in this one that I can't wait to see what else is ahead. I do know that the next book will be Drake's story, and I can't wait for it.
I love redemption stories (having written one just recently myself) and this one didn't disappoint. Gabriel is a tough, bad guy but also turned out to be a great (reluctant) hero. And Jezebel was surprisingly strong, for a women who'd been through so much as a mortal. Put them together and wow! Explosive.
Yep, this series is another keeper. I'm also looking forward to getting stuck into Jenna's other series.
