WARM BODIES by Isaac Marion

It's no secret that I'm a zombie fan, so I'm always on the lookout for zombie books to add to my TBR pile. And when I read about this book at The Book Smugglers, I went out of my way to buy a copy.

Wow. This is an amazing story. Not only is it a fresh approach to the zombie genre--it's told in the POV of an actual zombie--but it's amazingly heartwarming, well written, and a total page-turner. As soon as I got started, I didn't want to put it down. 

R is a zombie. He lives in a community of the Dead, and acts the same way as every other zombie. Well, until he feeds on a teenage boy's brain, and meets the human girl, Julie. After that, he becomes fascinated by her and does everything he can to protect her. Together, they decide to change the world...

I absolutely loved this book! It's an amazing ride. Sharing R's thoughts and dreams, as well as watching how he changes, is truly magical. No longer satisfied with a life that forces him to eat people, he actually does something about becoming more. Everything about this story fascinated me. It's beautiful, and memorable.

Ultimately, this book is a story about hope in a hopeless world.
