Revision City, once again!

I did say last week that I would be here for a while, didn't I? Lol.

Personally, I think this is the best goal to have at the moment. My daughter's on school holidays.

Today is her third day. Not that I'm keeping count or anything. But when she's around, my whole day needs to be turned upside down. Seriously, it does.

I'm just so used to getting a bunch of hours to myself during the weekdays, after hubby goes to work. This is a huge adjustment. I pretty much get a few hours in the afternoon, and maybe one more at night after she's gone to bed.

I'm not complaining. Much. ;) But it just takes some getting used to, and by that time, she's back at school. Lol.

Anyway. Enough of that. Let's just concentrate on what I'm working on at the moment...

I've started the revision of my YA futuristic novel, codename: M-YA. Well, I actually started it on Saturday and have been squeezing in a few chapters every chance I get. Right now I'm up to page 122/295. The word count is still in the 70k-word range. It's gone up by about 200 words, but keeps going up and then back down again when I delete words, add other words, and then remove some more words that don't need to be there. So far, there hasn't been any need for huge rewrites. Everything is moving along nicely, makes sense, and remains constant. I'm pretty happy with how it's going. At the moment, anyway.

Hopefully I can revise another chapter before the day is over and reach the halfway mark. I'm way over my daily goal (which is 33 pgs/day for 9 days) and lovin' it. That'll give me a day (or two) to concentrate on the synopsis and possible query letter. I'd love to get this story out there, especially since I'm considering writing the second installment during NaNoWriMo. Not decided yet, because I still reckon I'll get edits during the month of November. :)

Well, that's it for today. Oh, and I've started reading this book. It's the third Dexter book and someone's following Dex around. Could a killer be stalking my fave serial killer? OMG! After typing that, I just realised how insane and possibly wrong it sounds. But hey, he's fictional, and not such a bad guy. He's just got a few 'issues' to deal with.

Okay, I'm gonna shut up now... Bye!
